Rev. Tom Hall is senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh.
Tom is thrilled to be a part of what God is doing in the heart of a great city through a grand historic church. He enjoys the look on peoples’ faces when they see the beauty of the church for the first time.
Tom’s passion is discovering new ways to communicate God’s truths to busy people.
Upon graduating from the US Air Force Academy in 1974, Tom married Jana, his high school sweetheart, and the two embarked on the adventure of an Air Force career. When Tom retired as a full colonel in 2004, he had moved 18 times, visited 33 countries, and all 50 states. Tom’s career included flying as a electronic warfare officer in four different planes (B-52, B-1, RC-135, and T-43), plus intelligence, reconnaissance, flight test, training, staff, and leadership assignments. He was a commander three times. He led a 15 nation committee at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. His last assignment was as Chairman of the Leadership and Ethics Department of the Air War College where he taught on strategic leadership to officers from over 75 countries.
Tom was called to First Presbyterian Church in 2009. He is a 2008 graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He also has an MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
Tom and Jana have two married sons and two granddaughters.
Tom enjoys travel, movies, golf, and tinkering with his 1973 Corvette, of which he’s the orginal owner.
